Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Sales Manager to join North Resort Oy and take responsibility for the active sales of our resort services in both the Finnish and, in particular, international markets.

Your key responsibility will be to build and develop North Resorts sales, with a strong focus on international tour operators, travel agencies and other partners within the travel and tourism industry, as well as direct sales to individual customers.

You will be selling a complete Lapland travel experience: high-quality accommodation, restaurant services, winter and summer activities, transportation services, and carefully designed travel packages combining these elements into memorable experiences.

This is a highly hands-on, sales-driven role. We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated and commercially minded. Rather than simply responding to incoming enquiries, you will actively identify new customers and business partners, reach out to them, present North Resorts services and offering, and build strong, long-term customer and partner relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively sell North Resorts accommodation, restaurant, activity and transportation services, as well as travel packages
  • Build and maintain relationships with international tour operators, travel agencies and travel trade partners
  • Actively identify and acquire new international B2B clients and business partners
  • Drive direct sales to individual travellers and groups
  • Identify customer needs and develop suitable service packages and tailored proposals
  • Prepare quotations, conduct sales negotiations and actively close deals
  • Manage existing customer relationships and develop opportunities for additional and repeat sales
  • Contribute to the product development and commercialisation of North Resorts services and travel packages
  • Utilise sales channels, e-commerce platforms and other digital sales solutions effectively
  • Actively monitor sales targets, booking levels and occupancy rates
  • Participate, where relevant, in international travel trade sales events, workshops, trade fairs and client meetings
  • Work closely with the Resort Manager, reception, restaurant and activity teams, as well as external marketing partners
  • Monitor, analyse and report on sales performance
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
  • Proven sales experience and a track record of achieving results in customer-facing roles
  • A strong sales mindset and genuine motivation for active new customer acquisition
  • The ability to build and develop long-term customer and business partnerships
  • Excellent customer service, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong digital skills and the ability to work effectively with various sales and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • A proactive and goal-oriented approach, with the ability to organise and manage your own work independently
  • Readiness to work in an international and seasonal tourism environment
  • Willingness to travel when required by the role

We particularly value previous experience in international tourism sales, cooperation with tour operators, hotel or resort sales, as well as an established network of contacts within the international travel trade. Additional language skills will be considered a significant advantage.

WHAT WE OFFER
  • A unique opportunity to build the sales operations of an entirely new international tourism destination from the ground up
  • A high-quality and genuinely distinctive Lapland travel product to represent and sell
  • The opportunity to build North Resorts international customer and partner network
  • An independent and responsible role where the results of your work have a direct and visible impact
  • The opportunity to influence our sales practices, product development and international growth
  • Close cooperation with the Resort Manager and the companys management
  • Competitive compensation; applicants are welcome to state their salary expectations

Above all, we are looking for a sales professional who genuinely enjoys selling and identifying new customers. You will have the opportunity to play an important role in establishing North Resort as an internationally recognised travel destination and in building its customer base from the very first years of operation.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • The employment contract is permanent.
  • The position is full-time.
  • The employment relationship is governed by the Finnish Working Time Act and the applicable collective agreement.
  • The role requires occasional flexibility in working hours and the ability to attend customer and sales meetings outside normal office hours when necessary.
  • A six-month probationary period will apply in accordance with the Finnish Employment Contracts Act and the applicable collective agreement.
  • Salary will be determined based on the responsibilities of the position and the successful candidates qualifications and experience. The position offers a competitive fixed salary plus the opportunity to earn a performance-based sales incentive. Applicants are welcome to state their salary expectations.
  • Before commencing employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide an acceptable medical certificate confirming their fitness for the position.
