Job summary

Distance Technologies LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance our XR runtime across a broad range of embedded targets. You will own the platform layer, including the display path, sensors, power, and the development toolchain, delivering end-to-end support on diverse hardware.

You’ll work on embedded Linux, Yocto/BitBake, kernel configuration, and cross-builds, while coordinating with HW and customer teams and driving CI for hardware targets.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in embedded systems software.
• Track record of porting non-trivial software to embedded Linux.
• Strong modern C++ skills and ability to read/patch C at kernel/driver level.

Responsibilities

• Platform bring-up and porting across embedded targets, including Yocto/BitBake layers and kernel configuration.
• Sensor adaptation and integration for cameras, IMUs, LiDAR and radar within the tracking stack.
• Embedded developer experience and delivery, including SDK ownership, cross-builds, sysroot management and on-device debugging.
• Collaborate with HW, design and customer teams; take ownership and work independently.
