Job summary

Profound Medical Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to work on an integrated software platform from real-time embedded components to the Windows therapy console used by the clinical team.

You will collaborate with software and hardware developers and clinicians to upgrade architecture and expand offerings to new clinical applications. Responsibilities include designing and implementing embedded software in C/C++ with RTOS, developing therapy console and desktop software in

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Several years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with embedded software in complex systems.
• Familiarity with Windows platform, multi-threaded apps and GUI development.
• Experience with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and verify embedded software using C/C++, including RTOS (Yocto Linux) interfaces.
• Develop therapy console and desktop apps in C#/C++, with GUI built on .NET and Qt.
• Design and implement unit tests and use test-automation tools for high code quality.

General Accountability

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to work across our integrated software platform – from the real-time embedded components close to the hardware, through to the Windows therapy console the clinical team relies on. You will collaborate closely with both software and hardware developers, as well as with our clinical team, to upgrade the architecture and expand our offering to new clinical applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and verify embedded software using C/C++, including work with RTOS (Yocto Linux) and communication interfaces to other system components.
• Develop therapy console and desktop application software in C#/C++, including graphical user interfaces built on .NET and/or Qt frameworks.
• Design and implement comprehensive unit tests and use test-automation tools to ensure high code quality and reliability.

Education & Certifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.

Key Attributes

• Several years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of owning technical solutions end to end.
• Experience with hands on embedded software development in complex systems.
• Familiarity of windows platform, with knowledge of multi-threaded applications and graphical user interface development.
• Experience using scripting languages, e.g. Python, to boost development and testing.

Considered an asset

• Experience with developing software for medical devices.
• Experience with Yocto Linux and Altera / Intel Nios® soft processors.
• Ability to read and review schematics.
