Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an experienced firmware engineer to develop embedded software for ARM Cortex M0/M4 and Renesas H8 platforms. You will design, code, document and test firmware, working with real hardware in a safety-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have a MSc/BSc in engineering, 5+ years in embedded systems, and strong C programming skills. English fluency is required; knowledge of RTOS and wireless/GNSS modules is a plus.

Qualifications

  • MSc (Tech), BSc (Tech) or equivalent degree in automation, electrical, computer, telecommunications or electronics.
  • 5+ years of experience developing in Embedded Systems.
  • Working knowledge of C, typically in Windows development environments.
  • Understanding of embedded firmware with bare metal C and RTOS.
  • Familiarity with wireless interfaces (BLE, LTE-M, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN) and GNSS modules.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safe work practices and maintain a safety-first culture.
  • Advise Systems Engineer and Engineering Manager on design or software issues.
  • Research, design, write, document and test new software programs.
  • Develop and modify existing systems through analysis and improvements.
  • Maintain systems by identifying and fixing software defects.
  • Update technical knowledge via courses, manuals, and new applications.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers and project managers.
