Job summary

Distance Technologies in Helsinki is seeking a Senior Engineer, Sensor Platform to own the sensor and data pipeline for our perception team. You will design, validate, and oversee sensor selection, recording hardware, time synchronization, calibration, and a versioned dataset with provenance.

You will review code and reports, guide the hardware team, and drive data collection projects across automotive and defense domains.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or C++.
• Deep understanding of sensor data quality and calibration.
• Experience with multi-sensor systems and data pipelines.
• Ability to design and validate end-to-end data collection setups.

Responsibilities

• Own the sensor platform and recording hardware end-to-end.
• Design and validate sensor selection, timing, and calibration.
• Review PRs and reports; guide hardware and data-collection teams.
• Lead data collection projects across automotive and defense sectors.
