Job summary

Fiskars Group is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead design efforts in R&D. The role combines hands-on prototyping with cross-functional collaboration to push innovative product concepts from idea to production.

Based in Espoo or Billnäs, Finland, the position is full-time and hybrid, reporting to the Senior Manager, R&D. The candidate will design with 3D CAD, validate prototypes, and create documentation while collaborating across design, product management, and marketing to meet cost and

Qualifications

• MSc/BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in product development with a strong focus on mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD/Solid modelling software (SolidWorks preferred) and MS Office; good understanding of plastic and metal part manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design products using conceptual design and 3D CAD within project cost constraints.
• Perform design validation testing of prototypes and off-tool samples; define required design modifications.
• Develop documentation detailing performance requirements and product acceptance criteria.
• Concept and Prototype: build, test, modify, and validate ideas in the lab.
• Collaborate across functions (industrial design, PM, marketing) and support supply chain for cost reductions; provide proof-of-concept prototypes.
