Alaris Group in Espoo is seeking a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site team. You will design antenna products and assemblies, develop 3D CAD models and drawings, and prepare design documentation to support the full product development lifecycle.
With a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of experience, you will ensure cost targets, manufacturability, and environmental considerations.
Education
Essential: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
Minimum five years of relevant work experience
Background in operational or manufacturing positions
Technical skills
Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
Languages
English required; Finnish is an advantage

Comfortable working under pressure and meeting development deadlines and goals
Clear and proactive communication
Strong technical curiosity and a problem‑solving mindset

Mechanical Design & Development
Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed mechanical design of antenna products, mechanical assemblies, and structures
Develop 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and design documentation to support product development
Design for environmental requirements, cost targets, manufacturability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance
Support design activities across the full product development lifecycle
Analysis & Engineering Validation
Perform or support structural, thermal, and moisture-related analyses where required
Apply engineering judgement to assess mechanical risks and mitigate potential failures
Support prototype build activities and evaluate design performance against requirements
Prototyping, Testing & Iteration
Build mechanical prototypes and test articles
Participate in mechanical and environmental testing activities
Analyse test results and iterate designs based on findings and feedback
Manufacturing & DFM Support
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design to Cost principles during design
Engage with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are practical and producible
Support tolerance definition, material selection, and manufacturing process selection
Documentation & Reporting
Produce clear and accurate design documentation, reports, and technical inputs
Contribute to product specifications, manuals, and assembly instructions in cooperation with product engineers
Document design decisions, assumptions, and trade-offs
Provide technical input to sales and proposal activities when required
Support cost and lead‑time estimation for new mechanical concepts
Participate in customer meetings or site visits where appropriate
