Job summary

You will develop deterministic, high-performance real-time embedded software powering iceye’s SAR satellite constellation, impacting missions, first responders, insurers, and scientists alike. Microseconds matter in this globally impactful work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience writing modern C++ with production-quality code.
• Proven track record delivering real-time control software for autonomous or safety-critical systems.
• Solid understanding of hard real-time constraints, latency budgets, and deterministic behavior.
• Experience interfacing with sensors and actuators in embedded Linux environments.
• Strong engineering practices including rigorous testing, CI/CD, and clear documentation.
• Ownership across the full software lifecycle from concept to on-orbit maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize modern C++ code meeting determinism and latency budgets for on-orbit execution.
• Build and own software bridging sensors, actuators, and control algorithms.
• Lead quality across the development lifecycle from requirements to testing and on-orbit support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to debug and improve system performance.
• Drive architecture evolution as the fleet grows and introduce new technologies where valuable.
• Investigate anomalies by analyzing telemetry and deploying fixes to maintain constellation health.
