Job summary

ICEYE, a global leader in sovereign intelligence from space, seeks a Senior Geospatial Software Engineer in Espoo, Finland. You will build and run the geospatial data platform that ingests elevation, hydrology, building, and satellite imagery data and serves it via APIs used across the company.

You’ll own production pipelines, develop REST/STAC APIs, and process large raster/vector datasets. Relentless focus on quality, testing, and scalable infrastructure is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python in production with spatial data processing.
• Strong PostgreSQL/PostGIS skills for large datasets.
• Experience with production pipelines using Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect.
• Experience building HTTP services with async Python frameworks and ORMs.
• Ability to extend large Python codebases with testable production-grade code.
• Familiarity with containers, CI/CD, cloud storage, and Kubernetes.
• Master's degree or equivalent depth from experience.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain production pipelines collecting data from external providers and load into spatial databases.
• Pipeline Operations: Own pipelines in production, respond to failures, adapt ingestion as schemas change.
• Data Delivery: Develop and operate REST and STAC APIs with stable contracts and performance.
• Geospatial Processing: Process large raster/vector datasets with reprojection, tiling, and quality checks.
• Engineering Quality: Improve automated testing, CI/CD, and data quality monitoring.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Align with stakeholders on requirements and write specs and decision records.
