Job summary

ABB Oy, IEC LV Motors in Vaasa, Finland, is seeking an R&D Engineer, Electrical to advance insulation systems for low voltage motors. You will drive development from concept to validation, coordinate material testing, and integrate solutions across the product lifecycle.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, documentation, and collaboration with global teams. The position is hybrid with two office days weekly, located in Vaasa.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Fluent English and Finnish written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with insulation systems or related product development.
• Hands-on laboratory testing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical insulation system development from concept to validation.
• Coordinate insulation material testing and evaluation activities.
• Maintain and improve insulation solutions through product lifecycle.
• Prepare technical docs, reports, specs, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams and other functions.
• Own assigned tasks and report progress to project teams.
