Job summary

ABB Motion High Power Converters in Helsinki seeks a Development Manager to lead a team of Project Managers delivering complex product development projects. You will drive execution excellence, resource planning and continuous improvements in project management practices.

The role combines coaching with hands-on leadership, requiring collaboration with R&D, product management and other stakeholders to align priorities and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in project management within product development, R&D, or industrial technology.
• Previous experience in leading teams, preferably in a project-driven environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to align diverse stakeholder needs and priorities to achieve project objectives.
• Experience in product development processes and project governance.
• Fluency in English and Finnish are required.

Your Role And Responsibilities

ABB is a technology leader in power control solutions. Within our High Power Converters business, we develop world-class power controllers that help customers across industries improve energy efficiency, process quality, and operational reliability.

We are looking for a skilled and people-oriented Development Manager to join our ABB Motion High Power Converters R&D organization in Helsinki. In this role, you will lead a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering product development projects within a complex technology environment. You will play a key role in developing project management capabilities, supporting project execution excellence, and ensuring effective resource utilization across the organization. Our R&D organization is a technically rewarding place to work, where you will collaborate closely with R&D managers, project teams, product management, and other stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes and continuously improve project management practices.

You will be mainly accountable for:
