Job summary

ABB Motion High Power Converters in Helsinki seeks a Development Manager to lead a team of Project Managers delivering complex product development projects. You will drive execution excellence, resource planning and continuous improvements in project management practices.

The role combines coaching with hands-on leadership, requiring collaboration with R&D, product management and other stakeholders to align priorities and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in project management within product development, R&D, or industrial technology.
• Previous experience in leading teams, preferably in a project-driven environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Ability to align diverse stakeholder needs and priorities to achieve project objectives.
• Experience in product development processes and project governance.
• Fluency in English and Finnish are required.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of Project Managers in Helsinki.
• Ensuring effective planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of product development projects.
• Supporting project prioritization and resource allocation in collaboration with R&D leadership.
• Promoting ongoing improvements to project management methods, tools, and workflows.
• Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance within the team.
• Supporting Project Managers in risk management, issue resolution and stakeholder communication.
• Contributing to organizational development and strategic R&D initiatives.
