Job summary

ABB Oy, Energy Industries unit in Vaasa is seeking two Project Engineers to drive automation activities for Gas and Diesel Engine Power Plants. You will coordinate engineering tasks, support project teams, and ensure alignment with budget, quality, and safety requirements.

The role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities to expand technical skills in a global environment, with collaboration across stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level technical degree in electrical or automation engineering.
• Experience with industrial automation systems and PLC programming.
• Knowledge of Siemens and/or Schneider PLCs is preferred.
• Experience with power plant automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement automation solutions for gas and diesel engine power plants.
• Act as a technical reference for project teams, suppliers and customers.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to meet targets.
• Contribute to cost-effective project execution within contract specs and safety standards.

This position reports to: Engineering Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are now looking for two new Project Engineers to join our team at ABB Oy, Energy Industries unit in Vaasa. In this position you will be responsible for executing and coordinating automation engineering activities for Gas and Diesel Engine Power Plants. We offer you an opportunity to work in a global working environment with electrical/automation customer projects in an expanding project organization. You will have the opportunity to extend your technical skills in different segments and be a part of our young and motivated community.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Planning and implementing automation solutions for Gas and Diesel Engine Power Plants


• Serving as a technical reference for the project team, suppliers and customers


• Collaborating with Project Managers, project team members, customers representatives and other stakeholders to reach project targets.


• Contributing to professional and cost-effective project execution in line with contract specifications, budget, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications for the role

• B.Sc. in electrical or automation engineering


• Experience of industrial automation systems


• Relevant PLC programming experience, Siemens and/or Schneider PLC experience are preferred


• Experience of piston engine driven power plant automation systems is seen as an advantage


• Knowledge of industrial automation networks is seen as a benefit


• Fluent written and spoken English and Swedish or Finnish skills


• As person you are a collaborative problem solver with your eyes on the target
