Job description

We are looking for a practical nurse for a fixed-term position at the Piippuranta group home until November 16, 2026.

The elderly residents of the group home require 24-hour residential services. We also specialize in residents with mental health and/or substance abuse needs. Our operations are based on maintaining the resident's functional capacity and resources and ensuring a good quality of life. Care and rehabilitation here involve utilizing the resident's own strengths in everyday life.

Community is an important operating principle for us. We actively organize diverse activities daily based on the residents' wishes.

The unit employs practical nurses, registered nurses, an instructor, and an occupational therapist. The service manager is responsible for the house's operations. Continuous learning and development of activities are important parts of our daily work in the team. The work is three-shift work.

We will provide you with an orientation plan that takes into account your previous expertise and work history. Our team's experienced and professional colleagues will also be available to help as needed and integrate you into the team's activities.

We are looking for a reliable, energetic practical nurse for our team who is interested in the care of elderly and mental health clients and works with a big heart. The applicant is expected to have good cooperation skills and experience in caring for both memory-impaired and mentally ill clients. The position requires both team and independent working skills.

Position-specific salary €2,634.51/month. In addition to the position-specific salary, we pay a work experience supplement of 3% for 5 years and 8% for 10 years. Please also note the good public sector employment terms, for example, regarding vacation days. The accumulation of vacation days is determined by your work experience - the more experience, the more earned vacation days. Eligibility requirement

• Degree as a practical nurse or previous school-level vocational degree in the field.
• Registration in the central register of professionals (Social Care/Healthcare).
• Up-to-date medication administration skills or completion at start of employment.
• Suitability according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (chickenpox and measles).
• Criminal record extract according to Section 6 of the Criminal Records Act.
• Experience in caring for memory-impaired and mentally ill clients.
• Good cooperation skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.

The position requires up-to-date medication administration skills according to the medication plan or completion of such at the start of employment. Additionally, we require suitability according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (chickenpox and measles). The employer determines the need for influenza and pertussis vaccinations.

The terms of employment are determined in accordance with the social and health care employment and official agreement (SOTE agreement). A probationary period applies to the employment relationship.

The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6 of the Criminal Records Act (working with elderly or disabled persons).
