Job summary

University of Oulu seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance AI-supported technologies for regulation of learning in collaborative contexts within the LET Lab. You will lead technical development, data analysis, and dissemination of findings across leading conferences and journals.

The role combines learning sciences, HCI, software development, and human-AI collaboration, with opportunities to mentor researchers and collaborate across international networks.

Qualifications

• PhD in HCI or related field within 10 years.
• Strong understanding of learning theories (self-regulated learning).
• Experience in research data collection, qualitative coding, and analysis.
• Experience with theory-driven quantitative analysis (R/SPSS, Python).
• Software development (Python); experience with cloud-based HPC systems; familiarity with Praat, NVivo is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and evaluation of AI-supported technologies for regulation of learning in collaborative settings.
• Design and implement Python-based agent architecture; plan implementation steps if needed.
• Evaluate infrastructure options (server vs local/edge) to fit project needs.
• Translate usability and research needs into concrete technical decisions.
• Document system design for non-technical audiences; collaborate with the research team on design and study goals.
• Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
