Job summary

The University of Oulu invites applications for 1–2 Doctoral Researchers to join the LET Lab within the LLP Research Unit, Faculty of Education and Psychology in Oulu, Finland. The role focuses on human–AI shared regulation of learning and data-driven approaches to supporting learning within higher education contexts.

Starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible, with fixed-term contracts until Aug 2029 or Dec 2028 (depending on position).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in learning sciences or computer science, or related field.
• Transdisciplinary research orientation with demonstrated research experience or interest.
• Team player with solid research and development skills.
• Willingness to study human learning processes and AI system design.
• Experience with educational technology and/or software design and development.
• Excellent written and interpersonal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct doctoral research on human–AI shared regulation of learning.
• Use multimodal and AI-driven learning analytics to study learning processes.
• Publish and present findings in leading international journals and conferences.
