Job summary

The University of Oulu invites applications for 1–2 Doctoral Researchers in the Learning and Educational Technology (LET) Lab, part of the LLP Research Unit in the Faculty of Education and Psychology. The position focuses on human–AI shared regulation of learning in higher education and students’ collaboration with AI.

You will work with multidisciplinary methods, publish in top journals, and develop socio-technical systems for hybrid intelligence, starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in learning sciences or computer science, or a related field.
• Transdisciplinary research orientation with demonstrated interest or experience.
• Team player with solid research and development skills.
• Interest in studying both human learning processes and AI system design.
• Experience with educational technology and/or software design and development.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication in English.
• Proficiency in Python and C#, with Unity for XR applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct doctoral research on human–AI shared regulation of learning in higher education.
• Apply multimodal and AI-driven learning analytics to study learning processes.
• Contribute to design and development of socio-technical systems for hybrid intelligence.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and publish in international journals and conferences.
