Job summary

University of Oulu invites a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the LET Lab, focusing on AI-supported technologies that promote regulation of learning in collaboration. You will lead Python-based development and evaluate social and technical aspects in education.

Research spans learning sciences, HCI, and human-AI collaboration across K-12 and higher education, with dissemination in top journals and conferences. Fixed-term from 15.11.2026 to 30.6.2028.

Qualifications

• PhD in human-computer interaction, computer sciences, digital design, interaction design, edtech design, learning sciences or related areas (degree obtained within 10 years).
• Strong understanding of learning theories (self-regulated learning).
• Experience in research data collection, qualitative coding and analysis.
• Experience with theory-driven quantitative data analysis (R/SPSS, Python).
• Software development (Python), cloud computing; experience with Praat, NVivo, Observer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and evaluation of AI-supported technologies for regulation of learning in collaboration.
• Design and conduct laboratory and in-situ studies to evaluate the agent and learning outcomes.
• Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with the LET Lab and Hybrid Intelligence programme to align technical and theoretical goals.
• Mentor junior researchers and participate in international conferences.
