OHL Construction Lead for Onshore Wind (Finland)

Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced OHL Manager for a major onshore wind project in Finland. This contract role will steer engineering and supervise construction of the overhead line scope on behalf of the client.

You will coordinate with the Construction Project Manager, Grid Manager, site teams and contractors to ensure delivery to specification, safety standards and programme timelines. Fluency in Finnish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience in overhead line construction, grid infrastructure or transmission projects.
• Experience in onshore wind, renewable energy, transmission, distribution or major electrical infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of OHL engineering, design review, construction sequencing and site supervision.
• Knowledge of grid connection interfaces, substation/grid solutions and construction contracts.
• Strong planning, reporting and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, grid operators and project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with QA/QC and HSE on construction projects.
• Proficient with Outlook, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the overhead line scope from engineering through to construction and handover.
• Review and steer OHL engineering design, approvals and technical documentation.
• Monitor construction progress, contractor performance and programme delivery.
• Coordinate interfaces between OHL works, the wind farm internal grid, substation, civil works and turbine scopes.
• Support coordination with Fingrid and other grid or regulatory stakeholders where required.
• Coordinate any interruption requirements relating to transmission line interfaces.
• Arrange, lead and document technical reviews, site meetings and handover meetings.
• Prepare meeting minutes, inspection records, protocols and progress documentation.
• Coordinate document exchange between contractors, owner's engineer and consultants.
• Monitor contractor QA/QC activity across OHL works.
• Identify construction, interface and programme risks and support mitigation planning.
• Ensure OHL works are delivered in line with agreed specifications, contract requirements and project standards.
• Represent the client professionally with contractors, stakeholders and project partners.
