Green Recruitment Company is assisting a major renewable energy developer with an onshore wind construction project in Finland in search of an experienced HSE Coordinator. You will support the safe delivery of construction activities, coordinate site safety, perform safety walks, and ensure compliance with RAMS, WMS and local regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a civil/ME or HSE degree, strong on-site safety track record in wind or civil projects, and fluent Finnish and English.

HSE Coordinator – Onshore Wind Construction

The Opportunity

TGRC is supporting a major renewable energy developer with anticipated contract requirements across a large onshore wind construction portfolio in Finland.

We are looking to speak with experienced HSE Coordinators / Safety Coordinators with strong construction-phase experience in onshore wind, renewable energy, infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.

This role will support the safe delivery of wind farm construction activities, working closely with the Construction Project Manager, Site Manager, Grid Manager, OHL Manager, contractors and wider project team.

The Role

The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and monitoring HSE performance across site activities, ensuring that contractor works are carried out safely and in line with project requirements, applicable legislation and agreed HSE processes.

The role will include site-based HSE coordination, safety walks, documentation follow-up, contractor engagement, risk management and monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as nominated safety coordinator on behalf of the employer, where required.

• Monitor contractor HSSE performance across construction activities.

• Arrange and document monthly HSE walks, or more frequent walks where required.

• Follow up on actions, observations and corrective measures from safety inspections.

• Review and monitor relevant RAMS and WMS, including works in protected or environmentally sensitive areas.

• Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings with the Site Manager and contractors.

• Support monthly progress reporting, including gathering HSE data from site parties.

• Liaise with contractors, consultants, local representatives, regulatory bodies and project stakeholders.

• Identify and assess programme and safety risks, supporting mitigation planning and follow-up.

• Support implementation of HSE plans during construction.

• Participate in design, weekly and monthly meetings where HSE input is required.

• Contribute to the safe setup and operation of the site office and site working environment.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, HSE or a related discipline.

• Strong HSE experience on construction projects, ideally within onshore wind, renewable energy, grid, civil works or infrastructure.

• Experience monitoring contractor HSE performance on active construction sites.

• Good understanding of construction processes on wind farms or comparable energy infrastructure projects.

• Builders Safety Coordinator Training / Finnish safety coordinator competence preferred.

• Good knowledge of RAMS, WMS, HSE inspections, incident prevention and site safety reporting.

• Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable engaging with contractors, consultants, project teams and external stakeholders.

• Experience using Outlook, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and ShareFile.

• GWO certification preferred.

• Fluency in Finnish and English.
