Qualifications

Civil Works Supervisor – Onshore Wind

The Opportunity

TGRC is supporting a major renewable energy developer with anticipated contract requirements across a large onshore wind construction portfolio in Finland.

We are looking to speak with experienced Civil Works Supervisors with strong construction-phase experience across onshore wind, civil BoP, roads, hardstands, foundations, substation civil works and associated infrastructure.

This role is suited to someone who can supervise civil construction activities on site, manage contractor interfaces, monitor quality and progress, and support the safe and timely delivery of wind farm construction works.

The Role

The Civil Works Supervisor will support the client’s site team during the construction phase of an onshore wind project, supervising civil works and ensuring that activities are delivered in line with project requirements, specifications, quality expectations and programme.

The role will involve working closely with the Site Manager, Construction Project Manager, contractors and wider project team to coordinate site activities and manage interfaces between civil, electrical, substation and turbine scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities on site.
• Monitor contractor progress, quality and performance against agreed scope and specifications.
• Support delivery of civil BoP works, including roads, hardstands, earthworks, foundations and related infrastructure.
• Monitor contractor QA/QC and HSE performance at field level.
• Work closely with the Site Manager and project team to achieve key construction milestones.
• Support coordination between civil, electrical, substation and turbine work packages.
• Review civil construction documentation, drawings and design information where required.
• Participate in design meetings, inspections and site coordination meetings.
• Support technical reviews of proposed additional works or changes.
• Identify construction risks, programme issues, quality concerns or interface challenges.
• Document progress, deviations and site observations clearly.
• Represent the client professionally with contractors, consultants, suppliers, landowners and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in civil engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience supervising civil construction works on wind farms or comparable infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of civil BoP construction processes, including roads, hardstands, foundations and site infrastructure.
• Experience with substation civil works, cable routes, earthworks or construction inspections would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and HSE expectations on active construction sites.
• Ability to coordinate contractors and manage interfaces across multiple work packages.
• Strong planning, communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of best practice in civil construction and wind farm delivery.
• Experience using MS Excel, Word and SharePoint.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.
