Job summary

Fortum in Finland seeks a Manager, Purchasing Operations to lead a team handling purchase transactions, spend channels and P2P system support, ensuring daily operations, compliance and high service delivery to internal users and suppliers.

You will drive performance management, data‑driven decision making and change leadership to enable efficiency gains, stronger compliance and value delivery, while promoting system adoption and contributing to a scalable purchasing operations function.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in procurement.
• At least 2 years in a managerial role.
• An academic degree in a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of purchase-to-pay processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and service-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English.
• Experience with Basware P2P, IBM Maximo and/or SAP Ariba is an asset.
• Shared Services experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in quantitative and data analysis.
• Ability to lead change, engage and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Purchasing Operations team to ensure compliant execution of purchase transactions and user support.
• Drive operational excellence in exception handling and vendor queries.
• Ensure efficient validation of purchase requests and management of purchase orders.
• Oversee contract translation and implementation into P2P systems.
• Manage purchasing channels and ensure smooth execution of operational procurement.
