Job summary

Metso seeks a Head of AI Engineering to lead the AI Transformation Office within its Business Growth function. You will build a globally distributed team and oversee the end-to-end delivery of enterprise AI initiatives across functions and regions.

You will mentor engineers, establish forward-deployed practices, ensure responsible AI delivery and guardrails, and collaborate with business owners to drive measurable impact while maintaining high quality and security standards.

Qualifications

• Proven people-first technical leadership with delivery accountability.
• Experience recruiting and developing technical talent across levels.
• Strong background delivering production software and guiding design decisions.
• Practical understanding of AI-centric software development across AI-enabled apps and AI-assisted engineering.
• Experience establishing engineering practices balancing speed with testing and discipline.
• Understanding of forward-deployed or business-embedded engineering and reuse across assignments.
• Ability to lead globally across functions, locations and time zones.
• Degree in engineering, CS, AI or related field; experience leading business-embedded AI delivery in a global industrial company is a plus.
