With sustainability at our core, our data centers run on renewable energy and are designed according to circular economy principles. Through innovative design, power efficiency, and intelligent operations, we deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure.

Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, atNorth operates eight data centers across the Nordics, with additional sites under development in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden.

We combine world-class technology with a people-first culture built on collaboration, ownership, and trust, empowering our teams to grow, take responsibility, and make a real impact.

By joining our international team, you will help shape the future of sustainable digital infrastructure.

Commissioning Manager at atNorth

As a Commissioning Manager, you will lead and oversee all commissioning activities for our site developments. You will ensure full compliance with our technical standards while seamlessly coordinating testing, documentation, vendor activities, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Operating as the primary quality gatekeeper on-site, you will maintain complete ownership of local commissioning deliverables, drive Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) workflows, and guide General Contractors (GC) and external Commissioning Authorities (CxA) through vital energization, load banking, and integrated system testing.

Key responsibilities
  • Commissioning Execution: Lead the on-site execution of the Commissioning Manual and test scripts. Review design documentation and technical submittals to identify project-specific nuances and integrate required parameters into testing routines.
  • Factory & Equipment Verification: Attend Factory Witness Tests (FWT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required. Oversee equipment delivery inspections, assembly, and Red/Yellow/Green Tag verification stages on site.
  • Digital Workflows: Act as the local platform administrator for Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Manage asset/system creation, issue logging, quality compliance, and provide platform guidance to site contractors.
  • Site Scheduling & Coordination: Review the General Contractor’s commissioning schedules, energization sequences, and load banking strategies. Coordinate local load bank resources and define explicit site scopes for third-party Commissioning Authorities (CxA).
  • Testing & Quality Control: Review Level 4 (Component/System) and Level 5 (Integrated Systems Testing - IST) scripts, analyze BMS trending data, and witness critical site testing to ensure finalized reports meet strict company standards.
  • Operations Handover: Ensure seamless transition from construction to operations by ensuring all commissioning documentation, as-built records, and system sign-offs are completed accurately.
Your profile
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or 8+ years of hands-on experience supported by relevant trade certifications (electrical/HVAC).
  • Mission-Critical Background: Proven track record acting as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer within mission-critical environments (data centers, industrial plants, or large-scale infrastructure).
  • Technical Mastery: Deep grasp of L1–L5 commissioning methodologies, load bank execution, energization sequencing, and BMS/EPMS trending analysis.
  • Drawing & Controls Expertise: Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and challenge complex electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), mechanical P&IDs, and control sequence schematics.
  • Software Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and practical, hands-on experience managing quality, assets, and issue resolution inside Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar platforms.
  • Communication & Presence: Strong leadership on-site with the ability to hold contractors accountable to strict quality standards and safety protocols. Fluency in both English and Finnish (written and spoken) is required.
