Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a ROC Technical Lead for its Wind Remote Operations Center in Barcelona, Spain. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of offshore wind assets from a remote hub, spanning commissioning and service phases.

You will detect, analyze, and resolve complex issues, guiding field teams and collaborating with engineering to optimize performance. You will work in a rotating schedule with on-call rotations, travel up to 20%, and relocation to Barcelona for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in the wind energy sector.
• Hands-on experience with wind turbines in operational environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support situations.
• Experience with SCADA systems and other digital monitoring tools.
• Fluent English; Spanish language skills are a plus and willingness to relocate to Barcelona.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance.
• Escalate complex issues with clear and structured technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems.
• Analyze operational data to identify faults, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational optimisation.
• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance.
• Work on a rotating weekday shift schedule with occasional on‑call support during weekends and public holidays.

Education

Engineering degree or equivalent wind energy experience
