Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Principal Engineer for Installation and Logistics to lead technical underwriting of turbine installation designs and site execution. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure safety and quality in tooling and lifting systems, and drive continuous improvements in installation practices across projects and fleets.

You will collaborate with design teams, field services, and regulatory bodies, mentoring engineers while shaping strategies for early integration of installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience.
• 5 years reviewing and developing Installation and Logistics processes, tooling, fixtures.
• 2 years mentoring and guiding others on repair processes and Wing creation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to design teams in Installation and Logistics across project lifecycle.
• Accountable for technical underwriting of designs and site execution processes.
• Influence technical rigor for design decisions, DFMEA, root cause analysis, and design methods.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in engineering design practices for Installation and Logistics.
• Assist design teams and sometimes optimize designs to meet safety, quality, and customer requirements.
• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders including customers and suppliers.
• Stay informed on industry regulations and standards committees to influence outcomes.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for technical challenges.
• Collaborate with Product Line, Field Services, and New Unit NPI to ensure built-in installation requirements.
• Coach and mentor engineering talent and foster knowledge sharing.
