The role focuses on supporting projects nationwide, with emphasis on Vigo, Galicia, ensuring high standards of health and safety across sites from a home office. You will develop, implement, and monitor policies, conduct risk assessments, and provide expert guidance to site teams and management, contributing to a secure working environment

Qualifications

• Requires formal degree in health and safety and proven experience in construction.
• Experience designing and delivering safety training programs.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve H&S management systems for construction projects nationwide, focusing on Vigo.
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections remotely or with on-site coordination.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide expert guidance and training to site managers, supervisors, and workers.
• Ensure compliance with national and regional health and safety laws and standards.
• Prepare and maintain health and safety documentation and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety into planning and execution.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide expert advice and training to site managers, supervisors, and workers on all aspects of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and regional health and safety legislation and standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate health and safety documentation, including reports, records, and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into the planning and execution phases of construction projects.
• Stay updated on the latest developments and changes in occupational health and safety legislation and technology.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization, encouraging proactive safety behaviors.

Requirements

• University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (or equivalent official qualification in Spain).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Spanish health and safety legislation and its application in construction.
• Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
