Job summary

Siemens Energy in Tres Cantos (Madrid region) seeks a Retrofit Project Manager to lead small- and medium-sized retrofit projects, modernizing breakers and integrating control systems.

You will coordinate with engineering, factories, and customers, manage contracts, travel within Spain, and ensure safety and on-site execution while driving operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Electrical background with ability to read technical drawings and interfaces.
• Strong organizational, teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within Spain and spend short on-site periods.
• Experience with MS Office; SAP, Salesforce and planning tools desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage retrofit projects from order handover to closure, ensuring technical and commercial excellence.
• Translate customer needs and facility constraints into execution plans via site surveys.
• Prepare technical and commercial offers including cost estimates, schedules and risk assessments.
• Coordinate technical solutions with engineering, product specialists and commissioning teams.
• Oversee procurement, logistics and on-site activities to ensure timely return to service.
• Control project costs, invoicing, and manage contractual changes and risks.
• Maintain direct communication with customers, providing updates and addressing deviations.
• Coordinate on-site resources and ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.
• Identify additional service opportunities based on customer knowledge and asset conditions.

As a Retrofit Project Manager, you will take charge of small and medium-sized retrofit projects, overseeing everything from the modernization of circuit breakers to the integration of control systems. Imagine collaborating with engineering teams, factories, and customers to deliver innovative solutions while navigating the challenges of existing facilities. You will lead technical coordination, manage contracts, and ensure seamless communication, all while making a significant impact on operational efficiency and safety.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Manage retrofit projects from order handover to successful closure, ensuring technical and commercial excellence.
• Understand customer needs and translate facility constraints into clear execution plans through site surveys.
• Prepare technical and commercial offers, including cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments.

What You Bring

• Higher Vocational Training in electrical systems or a bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical, industrial, or energy engineering.
• A practical electrical background with the ability to understand technical drawings and interfaces.
• A strong attitude, technical curiosity, and a willingness to learn about retrofit and high-voltage systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to seek support when needed.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, and project planning tools is desirable.
• Willingness to travel within Spain and spend short periods on-site as required.
• Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency is required for international coordination.
• A passion for building a career in service, retrofit, and modernization of high-voltage assets.

Nice to have:

• Experience in high-voltage equipment, substations, or retrofit projects is valued but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of circuit breakers, AIS/GIS equipment, and auxiliary systems is a plus.
