Hitachi Energy in Madrid, Spain is expanding its ES Regional Office and seeks an experienced engineer to support project execution from design to delivery for offshore platforms, data centers, and high-voltage substations in Europe.

You will lead the electromechanical design scope, develop technical specifications, and ensure 3D model alignment with civil disciplines while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Solid track record in electromechanical design of substations (AIS or GIS).
• Relevant High Voltage Apparatus experience and knowledge.
• BIM/3D methodology knowledge will be a plus.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety guidelines.
• Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills and knowledge of power systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate the primary scope to ensure the integrity and correct function of substation systems.
• Produce technical documentation supporting tender development and design phases.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
• Ensure alignment of 3D design/models and resolve interferences between civil and electromechanical disciplines.
• Make technical recommendations during design, engineering, and execution phases.
• Support the project team with claims related to changes in the primary scope, assessing cost, time impacts and risks.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices and develop leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

As part of this dynamic team, you will play a key role in supporting project execution from design to delivery, ensuring innovative solutions for offshore platforms, data centers,and high-voltage substations across the region.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Lead and coordinate the primary (electromechanical) scope to ensure the integrity and the correct function operation of the substation systems.
• Produce technical documentation, supporting not only tender development but also early conceptual design, detail design and equipment implementation. suincluding conceptual design support and equipment implementation.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
• Ensure alignment of the 3D design/models, coordinating and resolving interferences interfaces between civil and electromechanical disciplines.
• Make technical recommendations during design, engineering, and execution phases to meet process requirements and standards.
• Support the project team with claims related to changes in the primary scope, assessing cost, time impacts, and risks while maintaining customer satisfaction through continuous dialogue and excellent service.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices and develop leadership, coordination, and communication skills, upholding our core values of safety, integrity, and quality.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Solid track record in electromechanical design of substations (AIS or GIS).
• Relevant High Voltage Apparatus experience and knowledge.
• BIM/3D methodology knowledge will be a plus.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety guide-lines, combined with a high level of self-motivation and curiosity for new technologies.
• Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication skills and knowledge of power systems, renewable energy, transmission systems.
• Fluent in English. Any additional languages will be appreciated.

Willingness to travel: Required 10% of the time.
