Job summary

Costa Navarino is seeking a dedicated Steward to lead the Stewarding team and maintain high hygiene standards across kitchen operations. You will coordinate daily tasks, support training, and ensure clean work areas, surfaces and equipment in tight collaboration with the kitchen team.

Successful candidates have at least two years in a Steward role, knowledge of cleaning procedures, HACCP basics, and strong leadership with clear communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Relevant training or experience in Food & Beverage or kitchen operations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Steward or similar role.
• Good knowledge of cleaning and hygiene procedures in a kitchen environment.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Good leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of English will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Organize and guide the Stewarding team, ensuring daily tasks are completed and cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Train and support new Stewards, providing the knowledge and skills needed for their role.
• Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas, work surfaces, floors, storage and service areas.
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are properly maintained and report any issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Monitor the correct storage and availability of cleaning supplies and report replenishment needs when required.
• Organize the Stewarding team for special events and additional service requirements, ensuring adequate support is provided.
• Ensure the team follows all hygiene, food safety and safety procedures, including HACCP and DIVERSEY standards, and report any issues to the Chief Steward.
• Work closely with the kitchen and other departments to support smooth operations, while providing hands-on cleaning support when required.
