Affirm is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Deal Reporting team, focused on building integrations and testing infrastructure to power Affirm loans. The role emphasizes technical strategy, cross-functional collaboration and on-call readiness across an international team.

You will guide the evolution of backend systems, own operational excellence, and foster a culture of quality. Remote Spain location available, visa sponsorship offered for this role.

Formación

• 7+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and building distributed services.
• Track record of delivering highly available systems using AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication and collaboration across product, design and analytics teams.

Responsabilidades

• Set technical strategy for your team on a yearly horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk awareness.
• Define and propagate technical solutions and operational processes across teams.
• Own team operations, monitoring, triage, playbooks and on-call readiness.
• Establish code review and design standards and mentor teammates.
• Develop talent through feedback and leadership by example.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.
