Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II, Backend (Collections) to join a remote-first team in Spain. You will design, implement and maintain backend services for collections workflows, collaborating with product, risk and other engineers to keep the loan portfolio healthy and recovery-focused.

You will work on distributed systems using Python or Kotlin, integrate with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes, and participate in on-call rotations while delivering robust, well-tested solutions that scale with

Formación

• 2.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Ability to transform a simple business problem into a multi-component solution with clear, well-tested code.
• Comfortable navigating a large codebase, reviewing others' code, and giving feedback.

• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to balance constraints and risks.
