A 35m performance sailing yacht is seeking a Sole Engineer to join a private/charter program with a busy Mediterranean summer ahead.
The yacht currently has a yard Engineer assisting with the technical side of the program and is now looking for someone to take on the position full-time. They are open to candidates with a solid engineering background outside of yachting, including someone relatively green to the industry, providing they have good practical skills, a willingness to learn and the confidence to take responsibility for the yacht's systems.
This is a hands‑on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, maintenance and keeping everything running smoothly. The yacht has a relatively straightforward maintenance program, making it a good opportunity for an Engineer looking to gain experience managing the technical side of a performance sailing yacht independently.
The successful candidate should be organised, proactive and comfortable managing routine maintenance, preventative servicing and any technical issues that arise throughout the season. They will work closely with the Captain and wider crew, so good communication and a positive, team‑oriented attitude are important.
The owners enjoy an active waters ports program, including kitesurfing, wingfoiling and e‑foiling, so an interest in these activities would be welcomed. Previous drone experience would also be advantageous, although someone keen to learn would equally be considered.
The yacht is expected to remain single‑season Mediterranean program for the foreseeable future, with plans to increase charter activity next summer. The following winter will be spent in Villanova or Palma.
