Job summary

Freyrecruitment is seeking an experienced Sole Chef to join a 45m+ private motor yacht departing for a 2:2 rotation from early 2027, based in Palma. The role requires a broad repertoire across English and Mediterranean cuisines, with flexibility to adapt menus on short notice.

You will be responsible for the galley, provisioning, menu planning and maintaining strict hygiene and inventories daily, working closely with the interior team to coordinate timings and last-minute requests.

Qualifications

• STCW, ENG1, Ships Cook Certificate preferred and valid driver's licence.
• Experience in private yacht galley and provisioning.
• Ability to maintain high hygiene standards and cleanliness.

Job description

A 45m+ private motor yacht is seeking an experienced Sole Chef to join on a 2:2 rotation from early next year.

This is a well-established program with up to 12 crew onboard. The yacht is currently heading into a winter yard period, so they have plenty of time to find the right person.

The owner particularly enjoys English and Mediterranean food, however they are looking for a Chef with a broad repertoire who is confident cooking across a wide range of cuisines. Flexibility is particularly important in this role, as menus, plans and requests can change at short notice. The successful candidate will need to be calm and adaptable, able to change direction quickly and consistently deliver to a high standard.

As Sole Chef, you will have full responsibility for the galley, including provisioning, menu planning, freezer inventories and maintaining excellent hygiene standards. They are looking for someone extremely clean, tidy and organised who keeps on top of the galley and inventories on a daily basis.

It’s a 2:2 rotation, with the summer seasons being the busiest periods of the program. The right person will be experienced, adaptable and a strong team member who builds good communication with the interior team, particularly around timings, menu changes and last-minute requests.

A driver's licence is required, and the position is female due to cabin arrangements.
