A J Class sailing yacht is seeking an experienced Rotational Sole Engineer to join its team in Palma. The winter maintenance phase will be in Vilanova, ahead of a busy Mediterranean summer and regatta season with potential short owner trips.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and prior Sole or Second Engineer experience on sailing yachts, be hands-on, and able to manage the engineering department independently while collaborating with the racing team.

A J Class sailing yacht is seeking an experienced Rotational Sole Engineer to join its team.

This is an established private programme under recent new ownership. The yacht will spend the winter in Vilanova for a maintenance period, preparing for a busy Mediterranean summer with a strong focus on racing and the potential for occasional short owner trips. The following winter, the programme intends to cross to the Caribbean.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and previous experience as a Sole Engineer or Second Engineer aboard sailing yachts. They should be hands‑on, organised and confident managing the engineering department independently, while working collaboratively as part of a close‑knit racing team.

Qualification: AEC 2 minimum

Contract: Rotational

Programme: Vilanova winter maintenance, followed by a Mediterranean summer and regatta season

Start: October/November

Joining location: Palma

Salary: DOE
