Job summary

EF Games in Madrid is seeking a Senior Unity Developer to join our multiplayer game team. You will develop and optimize core systems, implement networking features, and collaborate across design, art, and programming to deliver high-quality gameplay.

This role is Madrid-based with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days remote). You must have AA/AAA shipped game experience, strong Unity and networking knowledge, and a passion for live multiplayer experiences.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in game programming.
• Experience on AA/AAA shipped games.
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
• Experience with network programming and multiplayer systems.
• Strong knowledge in Unity and physics system for Unity.
• Strong knowledge in Photon Quantum will be highly valued.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience in live operations (Live Ops) will be a plus.
• Experience in full-cycle game development, from concept to launch.
• Be a great team player, highly collaborative, and contribute positively to the work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core systems and gameplay features for an online game.
• Implement and manage networking features for performance and scalability, ensuring robust and reliable multiplayer functionality and smooth online multiplayer experiences.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and other programmers to ensure seamless integration of features.
• Debug and resolve complex issues related to gameplay, networking, and performance.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of the game’s codebase.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior programmers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in online multiplayer gaming.
• Ensure the game’s code meets high-quality standards and is well-documented.
