Job summary

Kharon, based in Madrid, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer for Agentic Systems to build and deploy autonomous agents that interpret geopolitical and financial signals. The role is full-time and hybrid, requiring 3 days in Madrid per week with strong production experience.

You will own end-to-end development, from API design and Docker/Kubernetes deployments to CI/CD with GitHub Actions on AWS (RDS, EKS, S3), and collaborate across Research, Product and Engineering to prototype and scale solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in AI/engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience building and operating RAG pipelines and agentic systems.
• Experience in search and retrieval methods (BM25, vector search, hybrid retrieval).
• Experience deploying containerized services with Docker/Kubernetes.
• API design and production deployment experience.
• Ability to translate business requirements into prototypes and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI agents connecting to information sources.
• Design and evaluate agentic workflows balancing exploration and latency.
• Define evaluation metrics for retrieval quality and business relevance.
• Collaborate with Research, Product, and Engineering for rapid prototyping.
• Move solutions from prototype to production with CI/CD and AWS deployments.
• Own full lifecycle of built systems from architecture to maintenance.
