Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking a (Senior) Underwriter focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions (Transaction Risk Insurance). You will join a regional team, report to the Transaction Risk Insurance Manager Southern Europe and Latam, and handle selection, analysis, and pricing of policies to issue final documentation.

You will negotiate terms, build relationships with brokers and insureds, and ensure compliance with company standards, while supporting travel to events and special projects

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a transactions-focused role (law firm, corporate, advisory)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law
• Excellent written and oral English; French or Italian required; Spanish or Portuguese a plus
• Strong knowledge of transactional exposures (taxation, breaches, litigation, price adjustment, damages)
• Experience with representations and warranties or TRI solutions is a must
• Solid understanding of financial statements is a plus

Responsibilities

• Analyze data relating to an account and assess financial/trends/industry conditions
• Follow underwriting guidelines and present recommendations to the underwriting committee
• Autonomously manage the underwriting process for complex M&A insurance projects
• Draft and negotiate policy terms for risks and challenges of an M&A deal
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and manage relationships with brokers, lawyers, and deal principals
• Attend conferences and participate in special underwriting projects and best practices
