IDEX Consulting is seeking a M&A Underwriter for its expanding transactional risk practice in Latin America. This role involves assessing, structuring, and underwriting W&I insurance for complex, cross-border transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, preferably as a transactional attorney, and fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is essential. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a strategic market expansion within a globally recognized insurer.

A global insurer is expanding its transactional risk practice into Latin America and is looking to appoint an attorney into the team as an M&A Underwriter to play a central role in that growth. This is a rare opportunity to join a well-capitalised, internationally recognised insurer at the ground floor of a strategic market expansion - working on complex, cross-border transactions across one of the world's most dynamic and fast-developing M&A markets.

You will be responsible for assessing, structuring, and underwriting W&I insurance across a broad range of cross-border transactions with a primary focus on the LatAm region. Working closely with brokers, legal advisors, and deal teams, you will be at the heart of high-value international M&A activity - building relationships, evaluating risk, and helping to establish the firm's presence and reputation in the region.

You will bring a strong legal background preferably with some attachment to Latin American and most likely as a transactional attorney with M&A or corporate experience - combined with a genuine interest in the insurance side of deal-making. Experience in W&I or transactional risk underwriting is advantageous but not essential; what matters is strong legal analytical ability, commercial instinct, and an understanding of how deals are structured and documented in the region.

Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese (native or near-native) is essential, as is the ability to engage confidently with clients, brokers, and advisors across the region.
