Dow Jones in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Personalization team, delivering highly relevant, real-time content experiences across our digital products. You will design and deploy scalable indexing, retrieval, and ranking systems for millions of readers.

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering, data, and applied AI, leveraging embeddings, two-tower architectures, and LLMs, while collaborating with product managers and data

Formación

• 3+ years of industry experience in ML, focusing on recommender systems, search, or personalization.
• Strong Python proficiency for production ML systems.
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks to measure model impact.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Degree in computer science, ML, statistics, or equivalent work experience.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate personalization systems powering content discovery and engagement.
• Develop ML models across the personalization stack from candidate generation to ranking.
• Use data-driven methods to improve candidate retrieval with embeddings and user signals.
• Drive experimentation and A/B testing to measure impact and iterate on models.
• Leverage LLMs to enhance content understanding and feature extraction.
• Optimize systems for performance, latency, and scalability in high-traffic environments.
• Contribute to engineering practices including testing, observability, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
