Job summary

ERNI Spain is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to define and evolve the software architecture for next-generation medical robotics platforms. You will work on modern C++, RTOS environments and EtherCAT, ensuring safety-critical compliance for medical devices.

The role emphasizes mentorship, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. A hybrid model is typical, with some onsite work in Barcelona and supportive onboarding.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in embedded or real-time systems.
• Expert knowledge of modern C++, embedded systems, RTOS environments and EtherCAT.
• Nice to have: experience with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the software architecture across robotic and embedded systems.
• Define interfaces, safety mechanisms and software partitioning.
• Mentor engineering teams and lead cybersecurity and connectivity architecture.
• Support regulatory documentation, submissions and agile delivery practices.
