Job summary

Social Discovery Group seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team of 7–10 engineers and own end-to-end feature delivery. You will guide sprint planning, estimation, and DoR/DoD while shaping design decisions and ensuring service reliability through monitoring and postmortems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Product Manager on backlog prioritization, leveraging Agile practices and modern microservice skills to deliver impactful social discovery products remotely.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial development in .NET, Java or Python.
• 1+ year of experience leading a cross-functional team.
• Strong understanding of microservice architectures (REST/gRPC).
• Experience with observability tools and monitoring (ELK, Grafana, DataDog).
• Familiarity with Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of 7–10 engineers (backend, frontend, QA, AQA).
• Own end-to-end feature delivery from requirements to release.
• Run sprint planning, estimation, decomposition, DoR/DoD.
• Contribute to feature design and technical decisions.
• Ensure reliability of services: monitoring, alerts, postmortems.
• Collaborate with Product Manager on backlog prioritization.
