Job summary

Flywire is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Global Finance team. You will help ensure accurate, compliant payroll operations across Americas, EMEA, and APAC, partnering with HR and Finance and leveraging cloud systems like NetSuite and ADP.

This role emphasizes data integrity, SOX controls, audits, and timely tax withholdings, with opportunities to grow in a fast‑growing FinTech environment and work with colleagues worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-region payroll and cloud ERP systems.
• Excellent data accuracy and confidentiality in handling payroll data.
• Knowledge of SOX controls and external audits is preferred.
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Global Payroll Execution: Prepare and process in multiple regions on semi-monthly and monthly cycles.
• Data alignment with HR and Finance for new hires, terminations, promotions, and equity updates.
• Record stock-based compensation and ensure timely tax withholdings and remittances.
• Support audits and internal controls, and assist with month-end close procedures.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers and manage payroll systems (Expensify, NetSuite).

Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist on our Global Finance team, you will report directly to the Regional Payroll Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant payroll operations across our global footprints (Americas, EMEA, and APAC).

You won't just process numbers; you will partner with HR and Finance, leverage modern cloud systems, and help us scale our internal controls in a fast-paced, high-growth FinTech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Global Payroll Execution: Prepare and process multi-region semi-monthly and monthly payrolls, collaborating closely with external regional payroll providers.
• Cross-Functional Data Alignment: Partner with People Operations (HR) and Finance to ensure 100% accuracy in employee data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, variable compensation, and equity updates.
• Equity & Tax Compliance: Accurately record stock-based compensation activity in employee pay profiles and ensure timely tax withholdings and remittances to local authorities.
• Audits & Internal Controls: Support annual statutory audits, internal compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) testing by maintaining clear documentation and robust internal control environments.
• Financial Operations & Month-End: Assist with expense report reviews (Expensify), employee record maintenance in NetSuite, and participate in month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in payroll administration (experience in multi-country/international payroll or SaaS/FinTech environments is a strong plus).
• Systems & Tools: Practical experience with cloud ERPs (NetSuite preferred) and major payroll engines (ADP Workforce Now, ADP Celergo, or similar global vendors).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Solid foundation in labor law, social security, and local tax compliance for key jurisdictions. Basic understanding of internal controls (SOX).
• Communication & Language: Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is required, as it is our global working language.
• Mindset: Proactive problem solver, obsessed with accuracy and confidential data handling, comfortable navigating dynamic environments.
