SD Worx is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead our Spanish Payroll Services team. You will manage a portfolio of key clients, escalate complex payroll matters, and ensure accurate payroll delivery across Spain.

This role blends people leadership with deep payroll know‑how and client relationship management. You will oversee a team of 8–10 Payroll Consultants, drive performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure service quality and continuous improvement.

Formación

• Around 15 years of experience in payroll administration and Spanish labour legislation.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and prioritization skills, with experience in conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
• In-depth knowledge of Spanish payroll legislation and processes.
• Experience with Integrho and SAP is considered an advantage.
• Spanish and proficiency in English is essential.

About the role:

As a Payroll Manager, you will play a key role within our Spanish Payroll Services organization.

You will lead a team of Payroll Consultants while acting as the senior point of contact and escalation for a portfolio of clients. This role combines people leadership, client relationship management and payroll expertise, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced payroll professionals looking to step into a broader management position.

Whether you currently work in a payroll outsourcing provider, labour consultancy, professional services firm or an internal payroll team, this role offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while helping shape the future of payroll services at SD Worx.

Which tasks can you expect?

Team Leadership

• Lead a team of approximately 8-10 Payroll Consultants.
• Support team members in resolving complex payroll and labour law matters.
• Monitor workloads, priorities and service quality.
• Drive engagement, development and performance within the team.
• Partner with other stakeholders across the business.

Client Management

• Act as the main escalation point for a portfolio of approximately 15 key clients.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
• Ensure service quality, SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Resolve complex operational issues and support conflict resolution when required.
• Track billing activities and oversee purchase orders for additional services.

Payroll Operations

• Oversee payroll delivery for Spanish payroll clients.
• Manage service launches, including payroll schedules and procedures documentation.
• Provide guidance on Spanish labour legislation, payroll processes and compliance topics.
• Monitor service performance, operational KPIs and quality standards.
• Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Experience with Integrho and SAP is considered an advantage.

• Spanish and proficiency in English is essential.
