Job summary

Acentecom is seeking a Head of Payments to own end-to-end payment performance across high-volume e-commerce platforms. The role emphasizes improving authorization rates for initial and recurring transactions, optimizing routing, and managing cost and risk with PSPs, acquirers, and card networks.

You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to turn payment data into measurable improvements, ensuring seamless customer experiences and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume e-commerce payments and subscription models.
• Deep knowledge of US payment processing, acquiring, and recurring payments.
• Proven ownership of optimizing first-time and recurring authorization rates.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve frontend authorization rates and decline patterns.
• Improve recurring authorization rates through retries, dunning, timing, and recovery strategies.
• Own transaction routing and cascading to boost approval performance.
• Monitor chargebacks and card-network requirements (Visa/Mastercard thresholds).
• Drive cost optimization by negotiating with PSPs and acquirers on pricing and terms.
• Analyze payment data to diagnose issues and identify opportunities.
• Collaborate with PSPs, acquirers, card networks, and internal teams to resolve issues.
