Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Ventilation Engineer for an underground mining operation in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will design, implement, and manage ventilation systems to safeguard air quality, temperature, and dust/gas levels, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient operations.

The role requires a mining or mechanical engineering degree and at least 4 years in underground ventilation, with proficiency in Ventsim or MinesPC.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 4 years in underground ventilation.
Experience with Ventsim or MinesPC.

Mansioni

Design, develop, and optimize mine ventilation systems and networks.
Assess underground air quality, thermal environments, and dust/gas levels.
Specify, install, and commission ventilation equipment (fans, ducting, monitoring).
Monitor ventilation performance and rectify deficiencies.
Develop ventilation plans and schedules with production/planning teams.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
Provide technical guidance on ventilation best practices.
Regularly inspect ventilation infrastructure and report on condition and performance.
Investigate incidents and propose corrective actions.
Train personnel on ventilation procedures and safety.
