Placements24 is seeking a Graduate Mining Engineer to join our client’s operations team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will gain hands-on experience in mine planning, safety, and operations while working with seasoned professionals.

This role emphasizes practical training, mentorship, and exposure to Deswik/Vulcan/Surpac and real-world projects across the Eastern Cape. A strong academic foundation and a willingness to work underground or at the surface is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Strong grounding in mining principles and geology.
• Familiarity with mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mine planning and design, both short- and long-term schedules.
• Support operations by tracking production targets and equipment performance.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support to teams.
• Contribute to safety management and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze geological and survey data for planning.
• Evaluate new mining technologies and methods.
• Prepare technical reports and production summaries.
• Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, and services teams.
• Learn ventilation, ground support, and mining economics.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in operations.
