Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Production Engineer to join our client’s field team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA. The role focuses on maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, optimizing artificial lift, troubleshooting production systems, and delivering enhancement projects.

You will monitor performance, forecast production, and collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and facility engineers while upholding safety and operational integrity in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of oil and gas production engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in artificial lift design and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of production system analysis and fluid flow.
• Experience with production software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in demanding field environment.
• Knowledge of Eastern Cape region is a plus.
• Commitment to safety and operational integrity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well and facility production performance to identify improvements.
• Optimize artificial lift systems for efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues including wellbore problems and upsets.
• Design and implement production enhancement projects.
• Conduct production forecasting and support reserve estimation.
• Perform economic evaluations for optimization proposals.
• Collaborate with reservoir, drilling and facility engineers.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Mentor junior production engineers.
