Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our essential services team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This on-site role focuses on reliability and operational efficiency of electrical systems and equipment within facilities, developing maintenance strategies and leading troubleshooting.

You will oversee preventative maintenance programs, manage maintenance personnel, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and collaborate with production and engineering teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., OHS Act, SANS).
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be willing to work full‑time on‑site in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical faults and equipment failures.
• Oversee and perform installations, modifications, and upgrades to electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage electrical maintenance personnel, providing technical guidance and supervision.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement system improvements.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure adherence to electrical safety protocols.
• Assist in the selection and procurement of electrical maintenance tools and spare parts.
