Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics and distribution management within FMCG.
• Proven experience in warehousing, inventory, and transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, team management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
• Data analysis to identify trends and drive process improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehousing and transport.
• Eligible to work legally in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all logistics and distribution functions including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs and improve service levels.
• Lead and develop the logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Ensure accurate inventory management, stock levels and cycle counting.
• Coordinate route planning, carrier selection, and fleet management for timely deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and transportation regulations.
• Establish KPIs for logistics operations and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, transport providers, and stakeholders.
• Oversee warehouse safety, security and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to budget development and management for the logistics department.

About the Role

Our client, a national distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is seeking an experienced Logistics and Distribution Manager to oversee operations in the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region. This role is responsible for managing the entire logistics network, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and order fulfillment, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery to customers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in FMCG logistics, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to optimize supply chain operations. This is a key position within the organization, driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the logistics and distribution functions, including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
